Make A Difference Day:
This year, for Make a Difference Day, we are partnering with Micah 6 Community in Pontiac.In the preceding weeks ahead of October 22, our in-person day of volunteering at Micah 6 (in the morning), we are hosting a drive at all participating schools. The drive for Micah 6 welcomes monetary donations (which you can make here), gardening items, as well as items from this Micah 6 Amazon wish list.
Micah 6 Community:
This year, our beneficiary is Micah 6 Community! Micah 6 Community is a community development corporation serving Pontiac, Michigan through food programs like community gardens, youth programs like summer camp, and the renovation of the vacant Webster Elementary School that they are converting to be the Webster Community Center!
Our fundraising and giving will revolve around their food work which includes 1.25 acres of community gardens, three greenhouses, and a produce store that sells healthy food in their community year-round.
